As the realities of the climate crisis become increasingly apparent, there is much discussion about the role of agriculture in mitigating the worst effects while protecting our ability to feed ourselves, and the term ‘regenerative agriculture’ often pops up in these conversations.

Since his election as President of THA in 2016, Tim’s vision and drive for the development of the hemp industry in Tasmania (and throughout Australia) has been demonstrated by the number of significant milestones achieved in this period.

We are very excited to announce that the THA has been granted $100,000 for a national consumer awareness campaign that will highlight the health and wellbeing benefits of sustainable Tasmanian hemp food.

What an amazing couple of months it has been for the Tasmanian hemp industry. The national conference was a great success with fantastic exposure for our industry, showcasing how far we have come with industry development here in Tasmania.

The build in Alonnah is first to use Tasmanian grown and processed hemp, which is entirely thanks to one of our association initiatives leading to the establishment of fibre processing capabilities at X-Hemp.

The third national Australian Industrial Hemp Conference occurred in late March 2022 in Launceston, following on from Geelong in 2018 and Fremantle in 2020, with several hundred delegates in attendance.
