Funding For National Food Campaign Promoting Tassie Hemp

We are very excited to announce that the THA has been granted $100,000 for a national consumer awareness campaign that will highlight the health and wellbeing benefits of sustainable Tasmanian hemp food.

This allocation of funding for the purpose of marketing on behalf of our entire industry is a very big deal.  We are confident that both our local growers and Corporate Members will see real impacts in customer demand for Tassie grown hemp over the coming months as a result of this campaign.

Our successful grant application was made to the Tasmanian State Government via the Strategic Industry Partnership Program (SIPP), and is, to our knowledge, the largest amount of funding granted to any hemp association at either a state or federal level in the country for the purpose of promoting the overall industry.  Huge thanks go to Committee Member Becky McLoughlin for driving this project forward.  Becky was voted in as one of our volunteer elected representatives  at the 2021 AGM and our association is incredibly lucky to have someone with such extensive experience with grant writing to assist us in securing this funding.

We now have our Executive Officer Andi Lucas working alongside Becky and other Board Members in developing this project.  Right now, we are in the phase of vetting then selecting the locally-based marketing and promotion agency who will work with us and Brand Tasmania to craft and manage the social media campaign.

We look forward to the launch, and are seriously thrilled to finally having real resources to promote our industry here in Tasmania!
